Certification Testing
HST has worked extensively with non-profit national and international organizations to construct valid knowledge and performance tests used to certify candidates for a variety of positions. Our testing professionals work with the sponsoring organizations and committees of respected subject matter experts in their fields.

They define critical knowledge and skill requirements for certification, construct valid test items measuring these requirements, format the tests, establish appropriate passing scores, and ensure test fairness. The range of certification tests designed by HST includes Fossil Plant Operation, Resource Recovery Facility Operation, Hazardous Waste Facility Operation, and Geometric Tolerancing.

Management Assessment and Development
HST provides a comprehensive assessment of leadership potential for first-level supervisory positions as well as mid-management and executive levels. The assessment process is custom tailored to meet client needs by measuring those individual characteristics that are critical to the supervisory position under consideration.  The results of competency-based assessment center simulations, paper-and-pencil instruments, and structured interviews are professionally integrated to determine the suitability of a candidate for the position.

HST assists organizations in defining and communicating their core competencies using clear, measurable behaviors. We have constructed skill-and competency-based structured interview guides and performance tests for selection and career progression. They assess individual effectiveness in demonstrating core organizational competencies. All performance tests focus upon clearly defined knowledge and skills required by the targeted job. The assessment process emphasizes evaluating individual performance using well-established standards approved by key persons in the client organization.
