John R. Turney, Ph.D.
Executive Vice President

John Turney is the Executive Vice President and co-founder of Human System technology. He is a licensed psychologist and has served on the Graduate Psychology and Management faculties of The George Washington University. Dr. Turney has published over fifty professional articles. His areas of expertise include selection and placement testing, human resource program design, managerial and supervisory skills development, employee motivation programs and organizational assessment tools and methodologies.

Dr. Turney manages a wide range of projects from the validation of selection tests to the establishment of skill-based compensation programs. He recently completed a highly successful project where he was responsible for designing competency-based career progression ladders and assessments for all corporate non-exempt jobs.

 

His advice on testing policies and practices is sought regularly by long-term clients. He also serves as testing specialist for Edison Electric Institute tests at several utility companies.

Dr. Turney received his Ph.D. from Cornell University. His prior experience includes work on pioneering organizational change and management development projects at Corning Glass Works and the U.S. Office of Personnel Management. Dr. Turney is a member of the Society of Industrial and Organizational Psychology and the Personnel Testing Council of Metropolitan Washington.
